Dara Khosrowshahi earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in bioelectrical engineering from Brown University in 1991. Khosrowshahi has served as the CEO of Expedia since August 2005 and has a net worth of 20 million dollars. Since then, Expedia has extended its global presence to more than 60 countries worldwide. In June 2013, Ernst & Young recognized Khosrowshahi as a Pacific Northwest Entrepreneur of the Year award recipient. Later in 2013, he was named to the Fanatics.com board of directors. Khosrowshahi also happens to be a self-proclaimed sci-fi aficionado.
Previously, Khosrowshahi served as the CEO of IAC Travel, which is a division of InterActiveCorp. He was instrumental in the initial expansion of IAC's portfolio of travel brands, which now consists of Expedia, Inc. At that time, he served as the executive vice president and chief financial officer of IAC. In these positions, Khosrowshahi managed all of the company's financial matters and made strategic plans for the company. Before all of that, Khosrowshahi had served as the president of USA Networks Interactive. He joined the company in 1998 as the vice president of strategic planning. Also prior to joining IAC, Khorowshahi served as the vice president of Allen & Company. All of this combined experience has gotten him to where he is now and has provided him with all of the skills he needs to be the best CEO he can possibly be for Expedia.
